My Japan Holiday 2022 (9th August)


Dear Folks,

When you are reading this blog, I would have been back to Singapore already. In the blink of the eye, 3 weeks has passed and let me recap the highlights and memories of this trip. Let's begin... ...

On the night of 8th August, I took flight via Japan Airlines to Haneda Airport for the first time. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a warm and bright sun. What a sight before arrival. 



Upon arrival at Haneda Airport,
I was heading to the COVID screening centre and within 1 hour, I completed the screening process immigration procedures as I have downloaded the MySOS app and the fast track functions. 
After collecting my luggages, I went to Yamato services to deliver my luggages to Fukuoka. 
I went to the JR East Office but it was still closed. It opens at 8am and while I was waiting, I took photos at the nihonbashi replica. I also waited for Yoshinoya to open as I also wanted to eat breakfast. 


After eating breakfast, I headed to the JR East Office to change my Japan Rail Pass for 21 days and booked Shinkansen tickets to Fukuoka.  After which, I took Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho station and changed to Yamanonte line (山手線) to Tokyo Station to meet Wanping. I am so happy to meet her and gave her treats from Singapore. 

After she had left for her appointment, I went walking around Tokyo Station while waiting for my Shinkansen to Shin Osaka Station. I bought my Ekibento for my lunch. 

I boarded Hikari 641 for Shin Osaka and arrived at 2.37pm. I changed train to Sakura 561 to Hakata Station. After I arrived at Hakata Station, I changed to subway to Kuko line (空港線) for Tenjin Station. 

After arrival at Tenjin Station, my portable wifi don't have battery and two kind ladies brought me to LYF Tenjin Fukuoka. So kind of them. I checked in and met Hikari's friend Tanya. I went into my room and started to unpack my luggage until 8.30pm while watching NDP via YouTube and brought dinner at Family Mart.

At around 9pm, I ate my dinner. I went to explore the hotel and slept at 10.30pm.

Hi fellow readers, By the time this post was written, I had officially shifted into Sendai for about 6 months.  Recalling back to the days when I first shifted in was on  11th December 2023. At the beginning, I have to learnt a lot of things such as disposable of rubbish, where to take bus back and forth, how to walk to church, how to pay bills etc...... Before school starts, I traveled to various cities to visit friends. Finally, school started on 10th Jan 2024. Classmates came from the following countries: Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, USA, China, Vietnam and Mongolia. In total 19 students including me (10 girls and 9 boys). Lessons start from 1pm to 4.45pm. Before lesson starts, I will have lunch at the school canteen most of the time. Moving to Japan Timeline

Dear all, At this moment, I am count downing to the day of moving to Japan.  Follow me as I keep track of the process on how to move to Japan. It all started after I went to Sendai in March and discussed about my plans to move to Japan with Pastors. While waiting, prepare for finances by changing money into Japanese Yen and pack luggages. May   19th: Meet up with Church Pastors and staff about my plans. 21st: Ask Japanese teacher to translate documents required for registration. 23th: Settled finances with insurance agent.  28th: Meet up with Japanese teacher to check registration documents June   8th: Changed money 9th: Mail registration form to Japan 15th: Documents arrived at Japan July 4th: Sign up with Youtrip international card August : 1st: Sign up for Wise international card  Send email to find out status of application 22th: Received email that school is preparing documents to send to immigration bureau September 15th: Received email  from school that documents were sent to Im

Dad's Home Coming

A pair of clogs, 3 tennis balls and a harmonica... .... A trademark of my late father Mr Gn Kok Lin.  21st April 2012, like any other day, left me a wonderful and complete journey for my late father and I as he went home to the Lord at 1135pm at Dover Park Hospice. Though the journey was tiring but this journey brought my life into a completion. Since 5th March 2012, I had been visiting my late dad regularly at SGH and finally had the chance to share gospel with him. Opportunity arises and I arranged for Ps Patrick Chew to visit him. Though my dad acknowledged that Christ is Lord but he refuses to acknowledged that he is a sinner. I still thank God that my dad recited the sinners' prayer and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I continued to pray for him though at times I struggled due to circumstances but Glory be to God, God gave me the courage to stand firm in my decision and walked with Him in obedience.
