Japan Holiday 2023 (13th to 15th March) (Day 4 to Day 6) (Kyoto)

13th March (Mon)
Arrived at Kyoto Station at 3.13pm, walked to Dormy Inn Kyoto Premium Ekimae to check in. Unpack my luggage and went to board bus 206 to Gion area at 5.15pm. Arrived at Gion Gojozaka Busstop at 5.38pm. 

Arrived at Ninenzaka at 5.50pm and walked around 6pm. Walked to Sannenzaka and exited at 6.20pm. Continued walking to dinner restaurant and arrived at Sasora East at 6.45pm. Exited at 7.45pm and boarded Bus 4 for Kyoto Station. 

Arrived at Kyoto station at 8.15pm, walked around Porta underground shopping street and head back to hotel to rest for the night.








14th March (Tues)
Woke up at 6am, went for onsen, dressed up in Yukata and ate breakfast at 8am. Exited hotel for Arashiyama Bamboo Forest at 8.15am. Boarded the San-in line for JR Arashiyama station and arrived at 8.50am. Walked to the Torroko Arashiyama station and waited for the gates to be open. 

At 9am, the gates opened but purchase of the tickets for the Sagano romantic train only starts at 9.25am. After purchasing the tickets for the romantic train, I went to the opposite counter to purchase bus tickets to the Hozugawa River Ride. 

Boarded the Sagano Romantic Train at walk and arrived at Torroko Kameoka Station at 10.25am. Walked to the Busstop to take ride to Hozugawa River Ride Centre and exchange tickets for the River Ride. Boat ride started at 10.55am. Arrived at the Destination Point near the Togetsu Kyo at 12.30pm.

Walked around the area and ate simple lunch before boarding rickshaw at 1.31pm. Rickshaw puller was Ichiro and his service was excellent. The ride took about 30minutes and we entered the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. After leaving the ride, I walked back to JR Arashiyama station and head back to Kyoto Station to meet Minami. 

I met Minami at 2.45pm. We walked back to the hotel and exited the hotel at 4pm. We walked to the post office to send my luggage to Tokyo Hotel and shopped around Kyoto Tower Sando and ate dinner at Porta. We took bus 206 to Gion and walked around Ninenzaka but Minami had to leave for her train early by taxi. I walked back to hotel and rested for the night. 











15th March (Wed)
Woke up at 6am, packed up luggages and went to eat breakfast at 7am. Checked out of hotel at 8.15am, boarded Shinkansen to Tokyo Station at 8.33am and arrived at Tokyo station at 11.12am. Changed train to Keikyu line to Shinagawa Station, change to Keikyu main line to Keikyu Kamata Station and change to Keikyu Airport Line (Rapid) to Otorii Station.

Hi fellow readers, By the time this post was written, I had officially shifted into Sendai for about 6 months.  Recalling back to the days when I first shifted in was on  11th December 2023. At the beginning, I have to learnt a lot of things such as disposable of rubbish, where to take bus back and forth, how to walk to church, how to pay bills etc...... Before school starts, I traveled to various cities to visit friends. Finally, school started on 10th Jan 2024. Classmates came from the following countries: Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, USA, China, Vietnam and Mongolia. In total 19 students including me (10 girls and 9 boys). Lessons start from 1pm to 4.45pm. Before lesson starts, I will have lunch at the school canteen most of the time. School canteen have a wide range of food choices, there is also a convenient shop too.           After lessons, I will usually go to Sendai station for dinner. Moving to Japan Timeline

Dear all, At this moment, I am count downing to the day of moving to Japan.  Follow me as I keep track of the process on how to move to Japan. It all started after I went to Sendai in March and discussed about my plans to move to Japan with Pastors. While waiting, prepare for finances by changing money into Japanese Yen and pack luggages. May   19th: Meet up with Church Pastors and staff about my plans. 21st: Ask Japanese teacher to translate documents required for registration. 23th: Settled finances with insurance agent.  28th: Meet up with Japanese teacher to check registration documents June   8th: Changed money 9th: Mail registration form to Japan 15th: Documents arrived at Japan July 4th: Sign up with Youtrip international card August : 1st: Sign up for Wise international card  Send email to find out status of application 22th: Received email that school is preparing documents to send to immigration bureau September 15th: Received email  from school that documents were sent to Im

Dad's Home Coming

A pair of clogs, 3 tennis balls and a harmonica... .... A trademark of my late father Mr Gn Kok Lin.  21st April 2012, like any other day, left me a wonderful and complete journey for my late father and I as he went home to the Lord at 1135pm at Dover Park Hospice. Though the journey was tiring but this journey brought my life into a completion. Since 5th March 2012, I had been visiting my late dad regularly at SGH and finally had the chance to share gospel with him. Opportunity arises and I arranged for Ps Patrick Chew to visit him. Though my dad acknowledged that Christ is Lord but he refuses to acknowledged that he is a sinner. I still thank God that my dad recited the sinners' prayer and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I continued to pray for him though at times I struggled due to circumstances but Glory be to God, God gave me the courage to stand firm in my decision and walked with Him in obedience.
