Birthday celebration 2023

Dear readers,

Thank you for visiting my blog. After 3 years of pandemic, things are gradually getting better. That goes for travels as well. This August, after a couple of preparation, I was able to have a wonderful time with my friends and loved ones during my birthday celebration.

18th Aug

The celebration started off with Rachel. We have been catching up quite regularly over social media and finally we met up physically from orchard to Bugis. We had lunch at orchard and went to Bugis junction for afternoon tea. We also shared about what we are planning to do for the next few months.

19th Aug

In the busiest day while tour guiding for Japanese friends who are in transit, I took a break and meet up with Mandy. We went to watch Ponyo movie (I won a pair of tickets from Uniqlo). After watching the movie, we went to City Hall Muji Café and had a simple celebration.

G12 conference (26th and 27th Aug)

During the last 2 days of G12 conference, Cellgroup and FCBC Japan Family celebrated my birthday. I was so blessed to have both spiritual families to make my day.

My SG cell and tribe members took time to celebrate my birthday at Changi City Point food court in the midst of my busy schedule while hosting the Japanese delegates.

As for FCBC Japan Family, we went to Pastor Caleb and Christina's house. Charlotte's family came and also brought a cake to celebrate his nephew's birthday and Pastor Christina took the opportunity and celebrated birthday for August and September babies. Charlotte's nephew, Monica and myself had the privilege to celebrate our birthdays with a large of friend and loved ones.

Actual Day (28th Aug)

After a couple of years not meeting Mabel physically, I was able to celebrate my actual day with Yoshie, Charlene and Calvin. I am grateful for Calvin to allow us to use the dining area and I was able to connect to Zoom to meet Hana. I had a wonderful time with them. The celebration ended earlier and George gave us a ride home. I was able to rest early as next day I will be flying to Ipoh for a short holiday.

Post Birthday Holiday at Ipoh (29th Aug to 1st Sept)

Before checking in for my Ipoh trip, I tried to meet Monica in the transit area. I was only able to see her through the glass panel while she was boarding the plane. I texted her safe journeys and see her soon in December. After sending her off, I stayed inside the transit area and explored Changi Airport.

Finally, it is time to board the plane and I informed Louis and my driver. I had a wonderful time at Ipoh and all thanks to Louis, I was able to find my favourite wall murals which are mostly found in the old town of Ipoh. Upon arrival, Louis welcomed me into the ramen shop. He gave me a treat and prepared a sesame cheese cake with blue pea flower on it as decoration.

On the second day, we went to Kellie's Castle and Louis took lots of nice photos for me. ☺️
After exiting Kellie's Castle, we went to Lou Wong to eat Bean Sprout and Chicken and he told me that I just need to walk straight all the way, I will be able to find the Concubine Lane. I took a lot of photos and ate street food.

On the following day, it was Malaysia Independence Day and I started the day by walking down heritage trails of Ipoh. Follow me as I share the video of this trip and the entire birthday celebration. Enjoy and stay tune to my next post. 😉
