Moving to Japan Timeline


Dear all,

At this moment, I am count downing to the day of moving to Japan. 

Follow me as I keep track of the process on how to move to Japan.

It all started after I went to Sendai in March and discussed about my plans to move to Japan with Pastors. While waiting, prepare for finances by changing money into Japanese Yen and pack luggages.

May 

19th: Meet up with Church Pastors and staff about my plans.

21st: Ask Japanese teacher to translate documents required for registration.

23th: Settled finances with insurance agent. 

28th: Meet up with Japanese teacher to check registration documents

June 

8th: Changed money

9th: Mail registration form to Japan

15th: Documents arrived at Japan

July

4th: Sign up with Youtrip international card

August:

1st: Sign up for Wise international card

 Send email to find out status of application

22th: Received email that school is preparing documents to send to immigration bureau

September

15th: Received email  from school that documents were sent to Immigration Bureau

19th: Changed money

25th: Changed money


November 

10th: School Admin sent email to inform that the Certificate of Eligibility application was a success.

11th: Go to bank to transfer school fees.

15th: Go to Embassy of Japan to apply for student visa.

21st: Go to hanko shop to collect hanko and Embassy of Japan to collect student visa.

22nd: Go to NTUC Nex to buy overseas student insurance. Meet Kelly and RZ (video call) for farewell dinner. 

25th: Farewell dinner at Campers Corner

26th: Met  Pastor Patrick and Hilary at church. 

Changed money

27th: Original documents arrived and sent email regarding dormitory

29th: Booked transport for departure 

30th: Last day of work at Campers Corner. Meet Esther, Mun Har and Joyce for farewell dinner. 


December 

1st: Went to Mandai Columbarium to pay respects to Grandparents, dad and uncles. Meet Elijah for farewell lunch. Meet Jane and Anna for farewell dinner

2nd: Went to Rachel's house for farewell dinner

3rd: JLPT N3 test and eat dinner with xiaoyi and mum

4th: Take transport to Terminal 3, take SkyTrain to Terminal 2, meet Mandy, Suzette and Agnes before entering departure gate. Check in luggages, enter Silver Kris Lounge. Walk to boarding gate and call xiao yi to inform her about departure. 

Board SQ636 for Haneda airport. 


5th Dec to 9th Jan (Winter Holiday)

Arrival at Haneda airport and winter holiday started.
Immigration Officer processed Residence Card (Zairyu Card)

5th to 8th: Kawaguchiko Station Inn

8th to 16th: Dormy inn Sendai Ekimae 

Settle Residence Card and apartment 

16th to 22nd: Dormy Inn Premium Sapporo

23rd to 25th: Sendai

25th to 29th: Tokyo and Osaka

1st Jan to 9th Jan: Sendai
